Designed and built by respected architect and builder [[:user:harryh:pc:reginald_drake|Reginald Drake]], Castle Blackthorn is a relatively recent addition to the City. Commissioned by Councillor [[:user:olivers:pc:arcus_blackthorn|Arcus Blackthorn]] as part of a civic regeneration project, the castle replaced approximately half a district of housing for the less well off. Built up and around an abandoned house more than 60 years old, it still contains a patch of flux and the flux entity "[[:resources:npc:the_killer_in_the_abandoned_house]]". Many of the displaced citizens are now wholly reliant on employment and housing provided by Castle Blackthorn.

Currently the castle is the centre of a ongoing legal dispute since the apparent death of its owner: with the Council pointing out it is a valuable military resource in a time of war and the lawyers for the Blackthorn estate pointing out their very large retainers.
