Claiming to hail from a nation far to the south, Ragnar was found washed up on a beach a few weeks after the unleashing of the Upheaval. With nothing but the vaguest memory of his reasons for coming north Ragnar quickly found a home in the Church of the Leader, its views seeming to chime with those of the distant land from which he hails.
Ragnar often encounters children lacking parents on his travels and is a strong believer that Children are the future, even if that future is a blasted, arcane wasteland.
His Church has expanded into a vast orphanage and training academy where he teaches the children about the importance of ambition, the value of self-determination and the evil of altruism.
Most of his wards go onto to become adventurers of some description.
