This is an old revision of the document!
The son of a pair of shoemakers, Samuel Skye had a relatively comfortable upbringing. He worked for a time as an assistant in his parents’ shop and did a stint in the Acryn Cadets but neither were particularly for him. He had a philosophy that people were inherently good and only did bad things because of a lack of understanding of other people. Hence, he founded the Postal Corps as a way to help people communicate with each other, no matter how far apart they were.
Currently, he holds the titles of Councillor, Postmaster General, Headmaster and Mushroom King.

Background Skills
Founded as a small courier service consisting of only one man with dreams above his station, the Postal Corps has grown to have offices in six cities over two continents. While many of the local Post Officers are basic couriers, those tasked with carrying messages between settlements are highly trained in combat for protection from bandits and the danger of encroaching flux. The Corps has a quasi-military hierarchy and is recognisable by their blue and white uniforms and the symbol of a Pegasus.
Due to a number of early legal misunderstandings, the Postal Corps have the lawyer Lucius Smythe-Beechley on retainer. More positively, the Corps is notable for their involvement in the rediscovery of Strossborg and Valydd, the resistance against the rule of the Leader Incarnate and the recent founding of the Acryn Free School.
With illiteracy rampant among the lower classes of the city, Samuel Skye has built the Acryn Free School, a charitable educational institution which offers free education to the children of Acryn. The emphasis is on teaching literacy and numeracy but advanced classes are available for subjects including history, geography and science. In the evenings, limited adult classes are offered for literacy and numeracy.
In front of the building is a statue of Mark Carter holding in one hand a shepherd’s crook and in the other an open book.
Any priest of the Leader who attempts to use the power of the Leader to aid you will instantly be excommunicated. Furthermore, any priest of the Leader who attempts to fight you will instantly gain the gaze of the gods for that encounter and gain a free use of the intercession skill even if they don't possess it normally. Creatures and beings directly associated with the Leader will attack you on sight and will be STRENGTHENED when they do so. This quirk can only be removed by the deity themselves or by receiving a blessing from a large church of the Leader.
Respects and wishes to please any group with which the Leader is associated. Currently, the Serradic Empire.
