Designed and built by respected architect and builder Reginald Drake, Castle Blackthorn is a relatively recent addition to the City. Commissioned by Councillor Arcus Blackthorn as part of a civic regeneration project, the castle replaced approximately half a district of housing for the less well off. Built up and around an abandoned house more than 60 years old, it still contains a patch of flux and the flux entity “the_killer_in_the_abandoned_house”. Many of the displaced citizens are now wholly reliant on employment and housing provided by Castle Blackthorn.

Since the unfortunate death of respected Councillor Arcus Blackthorn, Castle Blackthorn has been claimed by the council and is being used as a central training facility for their efforts to repulse the Serradic advance. The renamed “Bastion” is also being prepared as a fall-back point should the City walls be breached.
